The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), represented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Knödel and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Ummenhofer, gave a lecture on “Accidental Torsion with Industrial Buildings – over-conservative Rules in EC8” at the 14th Nordic Steel Construction Conference in Copenhagen on 19.09.2019.
It dealt with the behaviour of steel structures in the event of an earthquake. The reference project included the radiation protection gates built by HODAPP for the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear power plant in Finland.
The focus of Hodapp has always been on safety.
